When choosing a Wedding Planner it must be difficult to know who is right for you.
Since graduating in 1996, I have been a very busy bee!
I started my career in PR launching the Focus at the International Motorshow and liaising with celebrities including Ian Wright as they participated in various events for the Focus Friends Campaign.
Having gained a taste for sporting PR and events, I took a job with the British Triathlon Association working with the press to promote the sport at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. It was in this role that I discovered my love for event management and moved onto a job doing just that for the Ice Hockey Superleague.
Working with Sky and other TV channels, I was in charge of the Leagues most prestigious events, organising everything from flights, to VIP hospitality, seating allocations, tournament sponsors, merchandise design and sales and even the choreography for the cheerleaders and ice skaters!
After a few years, I took an Executive Management position with the National Ice Centre in Nottingham as their Special Events Manager and was luckily enough to be a key player in huge events such as the International Skating Gala in the presence of Queen Elizabeth. My key duties included organisation of the skating contracts of the Olympic Champions and international travel for performers and Crew. I arranged all event accommodation requirements along with catering for a vast crew and guest list. I was responsible for hospitality of the VIP guests and controlled all budgets, managing both NIC and external staff. I also worked hand in hand with the City Council regarding police escorts for the event; external security; traffic diversions and city wide PR to advertise the event, which was key to the National Golden Jubilee Celebration.
